This monument is wrongly listed by Historic England as the ‘Woolerey Monument’ list entry 1118539.
It is the churchyard of St Mary’s, Winterborne Whitechurch.
The WOOLFREY/WOLFREY/WOOLFRY family occur frequently in our Milton Abbas records, and held several plots of land in the Woodward Survey of 1780. We also have some of their wills transcribed.
According to opc.dorset William WOOLFREY was buried on 7 January 1803 and died of consumption aged 37, and Elisabeth WOOLFREYS was buried 25 August 1803 and died of dropsy.

Note for those researching Milton Abbas people that they might be information on them in the parish records of adjacent parishes – especially Winterborne Whitechurch, Winterborne Stickland and Hilton. The Milton Abbas estate once included parts of those parishes and agricultural labourers may have worked there and attended those churches.
