This list was taken from the Woodward Survey of 1770. The original is in the Dorset History Centre, and we have high resolution images of the maps and surveys in the bound volume. Please be aware that the names are spelled as in the original – they are likely to have different spellings in other sources such as Parish Registers of this date. Please check alternative spellings.

We have seen KATE, KAATE, KATES, and KATIS all referring to the same person.

Some of these people had already died by 1770 but were still tenure holders. Your ancestor may have died before 1770 but still be named on the list.
